The 57 people who were poisoned at breakfast on Thursday morning in east
China have been out of danger, doctors with a local hospital said yesterday.
The 57 victims felt nauseous and stomachache after eating breakfast in a
restaurant in the Xixi Town of Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province. They were
hospitalized immediately and a panel of experts was sent to the hospital at
once.
All the people, including some pupils, are now out of danger, and the most
seriously poisoned one is in a stable condition. But They still need to stay in
hospital for several days, doctors said.
Rat poison was found in the food that the victims had for breakfast and the
restaurant owners are under investigation, said the local police, who believe
someone put the poison deliberately into the food.
