The last trapped worker in a Guizhou coal mine was found dead today, raising
the death toll to 16, Xinhua news agency reported today.
Rescuers have
transported all the bodies of the trapped workers out of the Yile Coal Mine,
which exploded at 12:20am on Sunday.
Twenty-five miners were working
underground when the blast occurred, one was killed instantly and only nine
escaped.
The coal mine, at Shuitang Town of Panxian County, is privately
owned and has an annual capacity of 60,000 tons.
The mine owner is being
monitored by police, and the cause of the blast is under
investigation.
