Finland plans to build a small ecological "city" in Tianjin with its advanced environmental protection technologies, Finland's national research center for science and technology announced yesterday.

The project, launched last June, aims to make way for the export of mature environmental protection technologies and products to China, Xinhua news agency reported today.

The latest technologies and products will be used in building the "city," including a closed water supply system, traffic positioning system, waste management and recycling systems, as well as the adoption of technologies to control vehicle exhaust discharge.

Finland will introduce the project at a forum in late April in Tianjin and will discuss the feasibility with the Chinese side about carrying out the project.

China has taken effective measures to protect the environment and requires more advanced environment friendly technologies, and Finland, honored as the most environmentally friendly country worldwide, is willing to promote its technologies and products on the Chinese market, the report said.
