China yesterday refuted the US accusation against Chinese companies of
stealing its Hi-tech as "groundless," saying such accusation is unacceptable to
China.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang made the remarks at a regular
press conference when asked to comment on an accusation by the FBI (Federal
Bureau of Investigation) criticizing Chinese companies for stealing advanced
technologies in the United States through various means.
Qin said he was "astonished" at this accusation, saying someone who always
regards others as a threat or even thieves is actually harboring a "fragile"
psychology.
Qin pointed out that the cooperation between China and other countries,
including that with the United States, is based on mutual benefit and win-win
principle, adding that the Chinese companies conduct their business in the
United States in compliance with local laws.
