Su Rong replaces Meng Jianzhu as secretary of the Jiangxi Provincial
Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), according to the CPC Central
Committee today.
Su Rong, of Han nationality and born in 1948 in Taonan of Jilin Province,
once served as Party chief of Qinghai and Gansu provinces.
Su has served as vice-president of the Party School of the CPC Central
Committee since July 2006.
Su's predecessor Meng Jianzhu was approved as the country's new minister of
Public Security by the top legislature last month.
Meng Jianzhu, of Han nationality and born in 1947 in Wuxian County of Jiangsu
Province, joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1971.
Meng was appointed as secretary of the CPC Provincial Committee of Jiangxi in
2001.
