Guo Jiguang, former executive deputy director of the Jinan Railway Bureau,
will face detainment for connection with the deadly train collision on April 28
that killed 72 and injured 416 in east China's Shandong Province.
The Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress permitted
the detainment of Guo, who is also a deputy to the provincial people's congress,
or the provincial legislature, at its third meeting yesterday.
The Ministry of Railways public security authority has confirmed that Guo was
involved in railway operation safety accident crime.
Guo was dismissed and subject to investigation by the Ministry of Railways on
April 29.
