Party urges fight on corruption

HE Guoqiang, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of
the Communist Party of China (CPC) has required local officials to further fight
corruption, and promote the work on building a clean Party and a clean
government to contribute to the country's reform and opening, and modernization
drive.
HE made the remarks during his inspection of north China's Hebei
Province from Tuesday to Fridayw.
He, also a member of the Standing
Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said the aim of
the anti-corruption work and the work on building a clean Party and promotion of
clean governance is to make new contributions to the implementation of the
Scientific Outlook on Development and to the building of a moderately prosperous
society in a comprehensive way.
HE said the procedures to assess the
performance of officials should be more strict and the assessment results should
be fully used to judge the performance of officials, so as to promote the
building of a clean Party and a clean government.
