Top CPC anti-corruption official calls for closer cooperation with Russia

The Communist Party of China's (CPC) top anti-corruption official met with a delegation from the Russian Presidential Control Directorate (PCD) yesterday, pledging closer exchanges with the country in fighting corruption.

Hailing the remarkable progress of Sino-Russian strategic partnership of cooperation, He Guoqiang, secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, said the two countries kept frequent exchanges among state leaders and had made new progress in cooperation in various areas this year.

He told Chuychenko Konstantin, aide to the Russian president and chief of the PCD, that China is ready to join hands with Russia to raise bilateral ties to a new level.

Briefing the guests about China's development since its reform and opening-up, He said the country had maintained stable economic growth and social stability this year in spite of various worldwide challenges, adding China would continue to give top priority to stable and relatively rapid economic development next year.

With regard to China's anti-corruption efforts, He said both the CPC and the Chinese government highly stress anti-corruption work, and consider it a major political task at all times that bears on the popular support for the CPC and the long-term stability of the country.

Chuychenko spoke highly of China's achievements in economic and social development. He hoped the supervision organs of the two countries could strengthen cooperation and learn from each other's experience.
