Officials nabbed

Police in Henan Province have caught two top officials of Xihua County who fled after an investigation was launched into their alleged economic crime, The Beijing News reported yesterday. Luan Weidong, the county Party chief, was caught on February 26 in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and county Governor Li Lai'an was caught in Jieshou, Anhui Province, the newspaper said. Li fled from a hospital during the time he was being investigated late last year. Luan reportedly took to his heels after becoming aware that Li had been isolated for investigation.
