Construction Bank sees profits soar Jan.-June

China Construction Bank (CCB) reported soaring profits of 32.84 billion
yuan (3.96 billion US dollars) in the January-June period, up 32 percent from
last year,Thursday.
The bank, which is one of China's "big four" state-owned commercial banks,
reported that its non-performing loan (NPL) ratio declined 5.69 percentage
points from the first quarter this year to 3.08 percent. The bank disposed of
22.37 billion yuan (some 2.66 billion US dollars) of bad assets during the
period, its sources said.
