The simmering trade rows between China, the United States and
Europe over textiles have cut into sales of textile machinery during the first
half of this year.
Many high-end machine makers are projecting a brighter
future in the Chinese market, however, betting Chinese textile firms will have
to upgrade the quality of their goods if they want to sell to Western markets.
That¡¯s the message machinery makers are spreading at the 11th International
Exhibition of Textile Industry, or ShanghaiTex 2005, which opened yesterday at
Shanghai New International Expo Center.
