Local cinemas have prepared a grand visual feast for movie buffs on Christmas Eve.

Paradise Warner Cinema City offers an all-night movie feast on December 24. Movie lovers can enjoy five film hits of the year, including Chen Kaige's fantasy epic "The Promise," Zhang Yimou's art-house film "Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles," Jeff Lau's comedy "A Chinese Tall Story," Peter Chan's romance "Perhaps Love" and a Japanese blockbuster "Snowstorm."

The cinema also has a Christmas gift package including a mini-sized hand warmer.

Shanghai Film Art Center will put another two hilarious movies on the all-night list - Hong Kong's "Fighting for Love" and the South Korean hit "My Tutor Friend."

And at the Stellar Cinema City in Pudong, in addition to hot all-night movie packages ("Perhaps Love," "Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles," "A Chinese Tall Story" and "The Promise") on the evenings of December 23 and 24, economical Christmas choices for families are also available. They can choose one of the hottest films and receive an elaborate gift.

However, the highlight for the cinema's celebrations is probably the grand carnival party at Christmas night.

The performing troupe which showcased its unforgettable singing and dancing in the musical "Perhaps Love" will be on stage at the party, taking guests back to some of the fantastic scenes in the movie.

And the costume of leading actor Takeshi Kaneshiro will be auctioned. As well as celebrating the centenary of Chinese cinema, the party will also announce the voting results to choose the "Top 100 Favorite Chinese Films."
