Chinese, Iranian FMs meet amid SCO summit

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing here on Thursday met with his Iranian
counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki.
The two foreign ministers exchanged
views on bilateral ties, the Iranian nuclear issue and other issues of common
concern.
Mottaki is among the entourage of Iranian President Mahmud
Ahmadinejad, who came to Shanghai for the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation
Organization (SCO), held on Thursday.
Iran was granted the observer
country status in 2005 by the regional organization, which groups China,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Mongolia, India and
Pakistan are also observer countries of the SCO.
