Loscertales, secretary general of the Bureau of International Expositions, has very high expectations for the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.
The BIE top official made this remark this afternoon while he was answering questions from local netizens during an online chat on www.eastday.com.
That's because Shanghai is one of the most prominent cities in Asia and China is a country of rich and long history, he explained.
The theme of this 2010 event, "Better City Better Life," also leads the world to expect greatness from the Expo, he added.
Loscertales is in Shanghai to attend an annual forum on the 2010 World Expo.
Highly valuing the forum, he described the event as a big success and congratulated the local organizer for the job well done.
Loscertales is positive of Shanghai's preparation for the World Expo 2010.
At the start of the online chat, he congratulated the Shanghai Expo's organizer on the newly revamped 2010 World Expo Website (www.expo2010china.com). He regarded the Website as a good platform to spread the word about the event.
While taking a question on whether local sporting celebrities Yao Ming or Liu Xiang are in his favor to be the image ambassador of the 2010 World Expo, Loscertales said both will do.
The Spanish official said he has visited Shanghai many times since 1994 and witnessed the transformation of the city during the 12 years. He said Shanghai is an innovative and open city.
