City prepares for 2007 Special Olympics
The 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games will be held in Shanghai, China, 2-11 October 2007. The event will mark the first time the World Summer Games will be held in Asia, and only the second time they will be held outside the United States.

After a two-hour, tiring highway ride Wednesday night and a one-hour stumbling trudge in a shuttle bus at 5:45 this morning, I eventually got to the aquatic sports center.

Zeng Yi, mother of Special Olympics athlete Zhao Zengzeng, was awarded the "Maurice R. Greenberg Achievement Award" yesterday, for her persistent efforts in taking care of and fostering her daughter in the 19 years since the girl was born.
