Shanghai has retrieved all of the money that was siphoned out the city's social security fund for illegal loans and investments last year, Mayor Han Zheng said yesterday.

"We have already reclaimed in full the misappropriated funds safely in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," Han said in his government work report to the annual plenary meeting of the Shanghai People's Congress. "The lessons of the case are profound."
