The 12th plenary session of the 8th Shanghai Committee of the Communist Party of China will open on Saturday.

Participants will review the committee's report for the 9th CPC Shanghai Congress. The candidate list of the representatives from the city to attend the 17th CPC National Congress will also be settled at the two-day meeting.
