Shanghai Automotive Co (SAIC) and General Motors Corp (GM) confirmed
they will set up a joint exhibition hall World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. They are
the first two corporations to confirm participation at the event.
The two auto makers, who are among the six top partners of the event, told
the Shanghai Expo Bureau that they wouldhave a hight-tech exhibit, Yang Xiong,
executive deputy director of the Executive Committee of the World Expo 2010
Shanghai, said at a news conference in Beijing this morning.
Yang, who is also Shanghai's vice mayor, said the Expo bureau would set up 16
corporate exhibition halls in Puxi for the event. The bureau has already sent
invitations to all top partners.
The World Expo 2010 now has six partners, which are China Eastern
airlines, China Mobile, China Telecom, Bank of Communications, Shanghai
Automotive Co, General Motors, and Siemens.
