Huang Jianzhi, deputy director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, met a delegation led by Lachlan Strahan, the head of the Images of Australia's Department of the Foreign Affairs and Trade to discuss the participation of Australia in World Expo Shanghai.

Huang said the organisers would do their best to provide participants services and hoped they will present a splendid pavilion in 2010.

The Australia Pavilion will be located in the B Section of the Expo Site. The delegation visited the pavilion site before the meeting.

Strahan said the Australian government has decided the designing contractor and a preliminary designing plan of its national pavilion.

Strahan also noted that the government attached great importance to the event. They will sent officials in charge of the cultural events to join the preparation team next year to present Australian culture in the Expo.

Huang answered the questions of the delegation about site construction, insurance, security, accommodation and venues for cultural activities.
