Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng met Vicente Loscertales, secretary general of International Expositions Bureau on Friday in Xingguo Hotel.

Han extended a warm welcome to Loscertales and thanked for his suggestions and help during the preparation for World Expo 2010 Shanghai.

Han said the preparation work will enter a new phase after the 1,000-day countdown till the opening of the event.

Han said the organisers will keep cooperating with BIE and carrying out the preparation work.

Loscertales said he believes Shanghai Expo will be very successful.

During his stay in Shanghai, Loscertales will discuss with the organisers about the construction and operation of the Expo, the special regulations, Urban Best Practices Area, theme developing and the second participants meeting.
