A delegation of Shanghai Expo organisers yesterday visited Jordan to meet and talk about the country's participation in the event with Yarub Qudab, executive director of the country's economic development and arrangement committee.

Zhou Hanmin, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, thanked Yarub for his reception. He said he hopes Jordan will soon confirm its participation in the Expo to show its unique culture and history at the event.

Zhou also introduced Expo history, the plans for the Shanghai Expo site, the theme development, and the Urban Best Practice Area.

Yarub said Jordan regards the Expo 2010 Shanghai as an important event and has decided to participate. The Jordan government has appointed him as the Expo's commissioner general.

Jordan has also set up a team to guarantee a better pavilion than ever, the director said.

Zhou invited Yarub the second participants meeting in November for further technical negotiations.
