With the confirmation of Libya, all 48 African countries have confirmed they will take part in the World Expo 2010 Shanghai, taking the total number of participants to 179.

Shanghai has prepared a 31,000-square-meter joint pavilion to provide free exhibition spaces for African countries. Organizers have also prepared a 7,000-square-meter plot of land for African countries to build their own pavilions. China has set up a US$100 million fund to assist developing countries to take part.
