World Expo Shanghai organizers have called for designs for a logo and slogan for Expo volunteers, to mark International Volunteer Day yesterday.

Submissions will be accepted until April 30. The winning design and slogan will be published in October, when organizers start recruiting volunteers, said Xu Weiguo, an official with the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination. Organizers said the volunteer logo should be modern, but also embody Chinese characteristics.
