World Expo Shanghai yesterday launched a worldwide search for exhibition
designs for China's national pavilion.
The 20,000-square-meter Chinese pavilion will explore the theme "Chinese
wisdom in urban development" by explaining traditional Chinese values about
harmony, nature and spirit.
Winning entries will be published mid-April next year.
China's pavilion will be the highlight of the 2010 Expo, so the exhibition
plan should be of high quality, said the organizers. Applicants must show
excellent ideas and a unique presentation.
China's section of the Expo will house the national pavilion, a joint
pavilion for provinces and cities, and separate pavilions for Hong Kong, Macau
and Taiwan.
Provinces and cities will get 600 square meters each to showcase their varied
traditions.
Organizers will unveil the design for China's pavilion when construction
begins on December 18.
