Shanghai Daily news

Hong Kong will mount an exhibition at World Expo Shanghai to showcase an "infinite city" with high-quality life and innovation.

Patrick Chan, director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai, submitted the theme statement, an official document to confirm the theme of its pavilion, to the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination on Wednesday, the first Chinese province or city to do so.

The Hong Kong Pavilion, 1,000 square meters next to the China Pavilion, will explore the theme "Hong Kong - the Infinite City" to display Hong Kong's latest achievements as well as the relationship with the Chinese mainland and the rest of the world.

The exhibit will feature six aspects of Hong Kong - its location, transport, technology, trade and finance, multinational culture and sustainable high-quality urban life.

Chan said Hong Kong is also considering taking part in the exhibition of Urban Best Practices Area. The government will talk with the organizers as soon as possible.
