China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation has confirmed with
organizers they will build a joint corporate pavilion with China Aerospace
Science and Industry Corporation and China Electronics Technology Group
Corporation at World Expo 2010.
The three groups will build a China Aerospace Pavilion at the Expo site to
showcase China's achievements in the aerospace industry.
Zhou Hanmin, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo
Coordination, met with He Dongfeng, the assistant general manager of China
Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, to talk about the details of their
participation.
It is the fifth corporate pavilion confirmed for Expo.
State Grid - the world's biggest public utility company - China Mobile, Vanke
- China's biggest listed real-estate developer - and a joint venture of Shanghai
Automotive Industry Corporation Group and General Motors are the other four
confirmed to build corporate pavilions.
Global partners have priority in the building of corporate pavilions, the
organizers said.
The Expo will set up an area of 110,000 square meters to hold 16 corporate
pavilions, including nine Chinese enterprises.
Among the 16 corporate pavilions, 14 will be newly built and two will be
renovated from old factories.
Owning an Expo site area of 0.85 square kilometers, Luwan District announced
yesterday that it has kicked off a new round of construction to create a "living
room" for the event.
Luwan, which will hold the Expo's enterprise pavilion, is planning to
renovate a former factory plant of the Jiangnan Shipyard Co Ltd into a new
exhibition facility in which companies from all over the world can showcase
their latest high-tech products.
The district is expected to develop an office building covering 1.53 million
square meters by 2010 along downtown Huaihai Road to capture business and
commercial opportunities expected to be brought by Expo.
The Expo Exhibition Center will also be built in the Hong Kong New World
Tower on Huaihai Road M.
