City planners will plant lacebark pines along the road leading to the China
Pavilion at Expo Shanghai 2010. The lacebark pine, which grows between 15 to 25
meters and is native to northern and central regions of China, was favored by
the country's ancient empires and would be one of the images of China, Expo
planners said yesterday. The greenery at the Expo site will highlight
integration, biological and cultural elements, and planners will include trees
and plants that are at their best for the Expo period from May to October. China
Aviation Industry Corporation I announced yesterday that it would build a joint
corporate pavilion with China Aviation Industry Corporation II and China Eastern
Airlines at Expo Shanghai.
