"Visual Shanghai," an eight-episode documentary series, has just completed filming.

The eight 30-minute short films record the city's unique characteristics and scenes and also show how the city is preparing for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.

Filmed by eight leading directors from China and South Korea, "Visual Shanghai" depicts the city's building achievements and the daily life of its citizens from an artistic perspective.

The idea was born when Shanghai World Expo Land Holding Co Ltd started recording its relocation project to the Expo site in 2004.

The documentary started filming in 2006 and will be aired shortly on TV.

A separate documentary, "Shanghai, Shanghai" is being made by Chinese filmmaker Jia Zhangke.

Meanwhile, Expo organizers said they have signed an insurance deal for construction-project safety with event partner PICC Property and Casualty Co Ltd.
