Shanghai Daily news

Vehicles traveling around Huaihai Road tomorrow evening will have to give way for the grand parade of the opening of the Shanghai Tourism Festival.

Organizers have promised the most colorful opening parade in the festival's 17-year history, with an explosion of fireworks and colorful floats from all over the world.

The main stage will be set up on Huaihai Road M., and vehicles will be banned from several sections of the road during the parade, which runs from 5pm to 9:30pm.

Authorities have yet to decide whether a traffic ban will be placed on Jinling Road and Changle Road. Buses running along those streets will not be affected.

A temporary traffic ban will be imposed on Nanjing Road W. on Sunday, when the opening ceremony for the Shanghai Shopping Festival will be held.

The two-hour ban will begin at 9am on the road section between Huashan Road and Jiangning Road.
