The season-ending eight-day Tennis Masters Cup wound up in Shanghai yesterday as defending champion Roger Federer (right) of Switzerland clinched his fourth crown in five years, defeating Spaniard David Ferrer 6-2, 6-3, 6-2 in the singles final at Qizhong Stadium. Federer hit 30 aces to Ferrer's 10 and closed out the match with his sixth break of serve. In the doubles final, top-seeded Mark Knowles of the Bahamas and Daniel Nestor of Canada beat Simon Aspelin of Sweden and Julian Knowle of Austria 6-2, 6-3. - Shanghai Daily
