A Yellow snowstorm alert was raised at 1:26pm today and the Shanghai
Meteorological Bureau said six millimeters of snow would fall between this
afternoon and tomorrow morning.
It was the first time the city issued a
snowstorm alert. The bureau warned government departments to be prepared as the
storm will affect traffic and agriculture.
The snow is expected to reach
its peak some time tonight through tomorrow morning and was forecast to be as
intense as last weekend's storm, the bureau said.
The bureau reminded
pedestrians and drivers to be cautious as the orange road-freeze alert remains
in effect.
