Feng Jia: officer with the Shanghai Railway Station police squad
'Our
biggest wish is that they can have a good and smooth trip back home '
On
Monday when a couple heading for Fuyang in Auhui Province checked in the
station, the surging crowds threatened to make the pregnant wife lose her
footing.
On seeing this, Feng Jia, a 25-year-old railway policeman, with
some of his colleagues at the station, immediately stepped in to take care of
the pregnant woman.
Without panicking, Feng lifted the pregnant woman and
carried her on his back while five colleagues cleared a little space around
them.
By the time he reached the emergency ticket office and paused for a
rest, Feng was soaked to the skin with perspiration. Feng and his colleagues
made sure the couple were safely on their train before they returned to their
patrols.
The woman's husband said: "Words cannot express my gratitude to
the Shanghai railway police. I will never forget such great assistance. Thank
You."
Feng said: "The snow has brought nothing but upset to the
passengers. We understand the passengers' passion for getting home before the
Spring Festival, and our biggest wish is that they can have a good and smooth
trip back home. As railway police officers, we regard the safety of each
passenger as our duty."
