• ¡®Sylvia¡¯
Based on Torqhato Tasso¡¯s pastoral drama ¡°Aminta,¡±and livened up by Leo Delibes¡¯score, the ballet "Sylvia¡±depicts the legendary love comedy between the fairy Sylvia and shepherd Aminta. China¡¯s National Ballet Company presents this eternal classic to audiences with stars from the Paris Opera, including principal dancer Lycette Darsonval, one of the most acclaimed¡°Sylvia.¡±The choreographer is the celebrated Pascal Vimsan.

• ¡®Masters and Classics¡¯

• Belly Speaker
Belly speaking, or ventriloquism, originated in ancient Egypt and has a history of more than 3,000 years. In ventriloquism, the performer disguises his lip movements, making it appear as though the doll in his hand is actually speaking. Ikkoku Tamaki, the renowned belly speaker from Japan can speak in many different voices and control two dolls simultaneously. His highly inventive, groundbreaking act and interesting stories have earned him great popularity in Japan.

• Pax Musica

• Penderecki String Quartet
The Penderecki String Quartet from Canada is in Shanghai as part of an intensive performance and master class tour in China.
