Frontiers of 'New' music

People always seem to have a craving for music containing fresh ideas. They get their wish with ¡°Music and High-tech,¡± a concert co-presented by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the National Center of Musical Creation of France, which will take fans into one of modern music¡¯s new worlds.
The National Center of Musical Creation of France, a pioneer in the exploration of contemporary music, will extend one¡¯s understanding of music. Set up in 1982, the center is dedicated to the development of scientific and musical research such as computer-assisted composition.
The concert is a joint effort by composers, musicians and engineers in electronic music from China and France, who apply the latest sophisticated equipment and software to amaze listeners with new sounds.
Most of the pieces to be performed at the concert will be a fusion of the sounds of traditional Chinese instruments and contemporary electronic techniques, emphasizing the vitality of traditional Chinese music and instruments.
