Not so many years ago, gastronomy was undeniable linked to the great chefs and restaurants of Europe, but at the same pace as new world wines took the world by storm, equally the new world countries generated their generation of great chefs.
Scott Webster, a leading figure amongst the new world chefs, took the challenge even further and with his Australian Culinary Consultants exported the Australian cuisine and its unique meat produce, pacific rim delicacies and bush foods.
No stranger to Hilton, having done several such promotions worldwide, Scott was last at the Hilton Shanghai 9 years ago. A perfect time for the hotel to bring his culinary skills back to the stoves of their signature restaurant ¡°Leonardo¡¯s¡±.
The Eucalyptus roasted lamb rack with red yam mash and quandongs, is a mouthwatering dish highlighting the uniqueness of Australian produce and what a great master as Chef Webster has in petto for the patrons. Salt cured Tasmanian Salmon Cheviche and Golden Yabbie Crayfish Bisque are a few of the other tantalizing dishes awaiting, whilst everyone curiosity was tinkled by the Wattleseed rolls from the baker¡¯s oven.
Dishes are delightfully contemporarily presented in Chef Webster own unique style, which is the signature of his award winning ¡°Osia¡± London restaurant. ¡°Osia¡± is elegantly situated in London¡¯s upmarket West-End, home of London¡¯s famous theaters and plays.
Simultaneously, the Hilton Shanghai is offering a taste of Australia in their Atrium all-day dining restaurant, whereby with the support of ¡°Meat and Livestock Australia¡± and Chef Webster culinary input, some of the finest lamb and beef products will be on offer for a fortnight.
After delighting Shanghai discerning culinary fundi, Chef Webster will go up to Hilton Nanjing to launch the taste of downunder and to wow patrons during a wine dinner at ¡°Il Ponte¡± restaurant on June 14.
His China tour continues to the Hilton in Beijing where in their signature restaurant Louisiana, Scott will once more delight patrons with that unique ¡°Taste of Down - Under¡±.
