A plane painted with the World Expo 2010 Shanghai logo will land at Japan¡¯s
Narita International Airport on March 18 and unveil the weeklong promotion for
the event, Shanghai municipal information office announced last week.
The plane belongs to China Eastern Airlines, a partner of the World Expo 2010
Shanghai.
The promotion campaign is part of a series of events to be held during
"Shanghai Week," from March 16 to April 30, which will include tourism
promotions, playing Shanghai-made movies in Japan and Expo-related business
talks between the two countries.
Besides the plane, an eight-car train painted with the Expo logo and
decorated inside with pictures of Shanghai will run between Tokyo and Kanagawa
for about one and a half months to showcase Shanghai.
Shanghai chose Japan as the first country to promote the Expo because China
and Japan are friendly neighboring countries, and the activities will introduce
more Japanese people to Shanghai and the event.
