World championship trophies

Following are introductions to seven world table tennis championship
trophies:
Swaythling Cup Swaythling Cup was donated by Mrs.
Swaythling, the mother of the first ITTF president Mr. Lvor Montayu. As the
sponsor of the first World Championships, Mrs. Swaythling picked an elegant
silver cup from Montayu family's warehouse as the trophy for the men's team
event.
Marcel Corbillon Cup Women's team event was added on the list
of the World Table Tennis Championships in 1934. Mr. Marcel Corbillon, the
former chairman of French Table Tennis Federation, donated the trophy as the
winner's token for the women's team competition.
Saint Bride Cup If
you're the winner of the men's singles event, you will be awarded the Saint
Bride Cup. Donated by C. Corti Woodcock, the Saint Bride Cup was to honor
England's F.J.Perry, who was the champion of the 1929 World
Championships.
G. Geist Prize The trophy for women's singles event is
named after its creator Mr. G.Geist, former chairman of Hungarian Table Tennis
Federation.
Iran Cup At the 14th World Championships held in Iran in
1947, the King of Iran presented the Iran Cup as the token for the men's doubles
event.
W.J.Pope Trophy The women's doubles trophy - W. J. Pope Trophy
came into being at the 15th World Championships held in London in 1948. The
trophy was named after Mr. W. J. Pope, the honorary president of the
ITTF.
Zdenek Heydusek Prize Zdenek Heydusek Prize for the mixed
doubles was named after its donator, the former secretary of former
Czechoslovakia Table Tennis Federation, Mr. Zdenek Heydusek.
