Escape the cold indoors

The winter chill can make the most hardy Eskimo dread the thought of surfacing from beneath the warmth of his bedcovers in the morning.
So it makes sense to devise an incentive scheme to help coax yourself out of bed and into the shower to avoid those late morning starts and missed 9am meetings.
One of the most inviting smells anyone can wake up to in winter is that of freshly baked bread. If the thought of stuffing yourself with light, fluffy, jam covered toast isn't enough to motivate you into action, you can always try frying up a few sausages as well. Buying a bread maker is easy at the Carrefour, where the average machine retails for around 400 yuan (US$49.38) to 500 yuan.
Sausages are also available at the Carrefour, with a selection of Australian imported beef as well as locally produced chicken, pork and beef varieties on offer.
The City Supermarket (one outlet at the Shanghai Center, another larger version on the corner of Shaanxi Road and Huaihai Road M.) also sells sausages, but does not have as good a selection.
You can, however, pick up bread mixes here, although sometimes they only stock German varieties, making it more difficult for those who don't understand German.
The Carrefour also stocks bread mixes, which save you a lot of time and effort in baking bread.
All you really need to do is add the mix, water and set the timer overnight to awake to delicious homemade bread.
It costs around 30 yuan for a one-kilogram packet.
Cold tiles and blustery bathrooms are easily fixed with a heated light system.
Heated towel racks can keep your towels warm and toasty, making the process of emerging from the shower a little less daunting too.
Yishan Road is filled with bathroom appliances and accessories, located just near Xujiahui shopping area.
This is the perfect place to pick up heat lamps and all sorts of other bathroom appliances.
Second only to the smell of freshly baked bread is that of a freshly brewed coffee.
Nothing beats a cup of coffee first thing in the morning, and what better place to enjoy it than in the comfort of your own home?

Stainless steel coffee cups retail at between 155 yuan and 212 yuan.

While investing in a coffee machine might seem a stretch of the finances, it's actually more economical than you think. Especially when you consider the average price of a shop bought coffee is around 20 yuan, paying 300 to 500 yuan for a stove top coffee maker doesn't seem so outrageous.
Higher end cappuccino makers are more expensive, but again seem a worthwhile expense if you drink enough coffee.
