This week we look at a newly renovated apartment in what used to
be an old school. Located on Zhenning Road in the former British Concession,
this property features original tiled floors in some rooms.
The open living
area which leads on to the kitchen is light and spacious. The old wood-framed
windows fully open onto a private garden area where a deck is soon to be
completed. The high ceilings add to the charm of the room and there are
radiators throughout to ensure it remains heated in the cold winter
months.
The master bedroom with a full ensuite bathroom is likewise well lit,
also looking out over the private garden area. The bathroom has a separate
shower recess and bath tub, and while it is not decorated in a particularly
modern or interesting way, is very big.
Two more bedrooms are located to the
other side of the living area, each with built-in wardrobes and ample light.
Another bathroom separates the two. Behind the kitchen is the dining area which
adjoins a room which could either be a fourth bedroom or recreation room. It has
floor-to-ceiling cupboard space along one wall and another walk-in storage room
adjacent to this room.
The best feature of this property is the
70-square-meter garden space. The property is set back from the busy street in a
public garden and there is also a rooftop terrace area for barbecuing or
entertaining that is shared by the residents in the building.
