Fudan University's
school of management will team up with business schools in London and Hong Kong
to launch an international Master of Business Administration program. Jointly
initiated by Hong Kong University and London Business School, the one-year,
full-time MBA program will be offered in Hong Kong, London and Shanghai.
Students will be required to take an eight-month business management courses in
Hong Kong before working a three-month internship in London. The final month
of the course will be spent writing a thesis at Fudan University in the city,
program officials said. "As global links are growing increasingly important
in the modern business world, it is of great value for us to educate future
business leaders with an international perspective," said Tao Zhigang,
co-director of the Fudan-HKU MBA program. Fudan has been cooperating with
HKU's business school in running the Shanghai-HK international MBA program since
1998. As HKU signed a contract with the London school, Fudan will formally join
the global alliance soon. The schools are talking to the Columbia Business
School about joining the program, which would then be expanded to include study
time in New York, Tao added. Student recruitment will kick off at the
same time in the three cities, with tuition costing 280,000 yuan (US$34,568).
Students from the mainland can enjoy scholarships that will cut their cost to
100,000 yuan.
