More than 100 presidents from world famous universities will gather at Fudan
University tomorrow for the University President Forum, one of the key events in
honor of the university's centennial birthday, today's Shanghai Morning Post
reported.
Six university presidents, including ones from Fudan University,
the National University of Singapore, the University of Oxford, the University
of Sydney, the University of Tokyo and Yale University will deliver speeches at
the forum.
During his stay in Shanghai, Richard C. Levin, president of Yale
University, will meet with 21 Fudan students who attended a six-week exchange
program in Yale in June, the first of its kind specifically for undergraduates
of Fudan and Yale. Eleven of the 21 outstanding students earned full As in their
Yale programs.
"It was the most meaningful summer in my life and I can feel
deep cultural heritages at the prestigious school with more than 300 years of
history," said Xue Xiang, a participant from the economics department of Fudan,
adding that they mainly studied English reading, speaking, and listening
there.
The students are expecting to meet the president in Shanghai.
