Logistical planning for meets a big feat

From pencils to pretty flowers to pretty attendants, the logistics work of
major conference is no mean feat.
Abundant stationery and blooming
flowers are just a few signs of the massive preparations for the 5,000-plus
representatives attending the current sessions of NPC and CPPCC.
The
logistics of arranging such conferences in the Great Hall of the People is a
great feat. About 1,000 service staff are on hand.
Some 11,000 towels,
8,000 cups, 50,000 pencils, and 14,200 note pads have been provided for annual
sessions of the National People's Congress and the National Committee of the
Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, according to Li Shejian. He
is vice director of administration of the hall.
Among 20,000 pots of
flowers decorating the hall in downtown Beijing, several azaleas over 20 years
old are worth 30,000 yuan (US$3,750) each.
