Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said in Beijing today that the issues
worry him most are overly expensive medical and education services, high housing
prices and safety problems during his first three years as premier.
He attributed all achievements to the efforts of the people. "Our government
is a government of the people. I, as a Chinese, is the son of the people," Wen
said at a press conference shortly after the annual session of China's
parliament was closed.
"What touches me most is the popular support of the people, which is
generated not only by public encouragement, but also critical public opinion.
The support has always been rendered with warmth in a consistent manner," the
premier said.
While saying he was most distressed by no better solutions for the problems
concerning public interest, he vowed to take the problems and difficulties head
on and never back away.
"Failure is never the option," he stressed.
