Zhangjiajie ready for Russian aircraft stunt fly
17/3/2006 11:26

Zhangjiajie, a central China city to host the air shows to be provided by a stunt flying team from the Russian Air Force, claims to be perfectly ready for the air shows.

Starting from Friday, the three-day show will be primarily given by 10 Russian aircraft, including SU-27 fighter jets, SU-30 fighter jet, IL-78 tanker aircraft and Yak-52 sport aircraft.

More than 140 pilots and other working staffs from Russia will take part in the show.

On Thursday afternoon, the "Russian Knights" aerobatic team, protagonist of the show, had about one-hour training in the air above Mount Tianmen, a well-known scenic spot in central China's Hunan Province.

The organizing committee has mobilized nearly 4,000 people to work for the air show. Over 900 reporters from both home and abroad gathered at Zhangjiajie to cover the stunt-flying show scheduled to start on Friday afternoon.
