China, UK sign economic agreements during premier's visit

Officials from China and Britain singed trade and economic cooperation agreements yesterday in London during the visit of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to Britain.

In the presence of Premier Wen Jiabao and British Prime Minister Tony Blair, government officials of the two countries singed in Downing Street the Memorandums of Understanding on Establishing China-UK Energy Working Group and China-UK Climate Change Working Group.

The cooperation agreements on mobile devices and Olympic communications were also signed at the Foreign Ministry of Britain.

The Export-Import Bank of China agreed to provide load supports to Nanjing Automobile Company UK Auto Project in Birmingham, and to UK Macersk Company on chemical tanker facility.

Air China also signed the confirmation of letter of intent to buy 15 Boeing 787 aircraft with Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine.

During his visit, Premier Wen Jiabao hailed the trade and economic ties between China and Britain, expressing great confidence in the further development of bilateral relations.
