A wax figure of late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping made a debut in Hong Kong
Thursday to mark the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.
The All-China Federation of Trade Unions, National Wax Museum of China and
some other organizations jointly organized the exhibition which will be held
until July 13 at the Olympian City, a shopping mall in Kowloon.
Also featured was the vehicle that Deng rode on during an inspection of
troops at the Tiananmen Square in Beijing in 1984.
The figure was finished in the 1990s and has been exhibited in the National
Wax Museum of China since then.
The museum will present the figure and the vehicle to Hong Kong as a gift to
celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the
motherland.
