The Olympic torch will continue its "red tour" today in Jinggangshan,
Jiangxi province, the cradle of the Chinese revolution.
A total of 208 torchbearers will carry the flame through the city, which has
a population of 150,000.
Bordering Hunan province, the city was where late State leaders Mao Zedong
and Zhu De created their revolutionary base in 1927.
The mountainous city is now a popular tourist attraction.
The torch replay will start form Huangyangjie, a 1,343-m hill, and end at a
city square.
The route passes a museum and a martyrs' cemetery, marking the revolutionary
legacy.
Donation boxes have already been placed along the 12.8-km route and local
people have made donations.
Meanwhile, the organizers of the torch relay said yesterday that celebratory
events in future relay cities will be temporarily cancelled as a mark of respect
for the victims of the earthquake.
