According to COB, 251 Brazilian have qualified for 31 events in the Beijing Olympics after the women's basketball team earned an Olympic ticket by beating Cuba 72-67 in Madrid yesterday.

Besides the women's basketball, Brazil has assured Olympic tickets in handball (women's and men's), boxing, road cycling, mountain biking, fencing, soccer (women's and men's), gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, equestrian, modern pentathlon (women's), taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, archery, triathlon, sailing, volleyball (men's and women's) and beach volleyball (men's and women's).
