Beijing Olympics photo exhibition inaugurated in Ukraine

A photo exhibition named "Beijing Welcomes You" was launched here
yesterday, drawing 200 representatives from the Ukrainian government, media
groups and other friendly people from all walks of life. Chinese Ambassador
to Ukraine Zhou Li, Ukraine's National Olympic Committee Chairman Sergei Bubka,
together with two other high-ranking Ukrainian officials, co-presided over the
opening ceremony. The exhibition features nearly 90 pictures depicting the
Chinese traditional architecture and culture, the Beijing Olympic facilities,
Beijing's infrastructure construction, as well as the whole nation's
enthusiastic preparation for the Olympic Games. The Beijing Olympics torch
relay which represents peace, friendship and hope, has already passed through
more than 20 cities across the world and all the preparatory work for the
Olympics has been completed, Zhou said. The Beijing Olympics will greatly
promote the exchanges and coexistence of different civilizations in the world,
said Zhou, who also welcomed the Ukrainian people to visit Beijing. Bubka
said in his opening address that the theme of the Beijing Olympics -- "One
World, One Dream" -- has precisely expressed the spirit of Olympics as well as
the world people's common dream for a better future.
