Chinese President Hu Jintao hosted a breakfast meeting for some heads of state who are in Beijing to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games.

The heads of state included Bosnia-Herzegovina President Haris Silajdzic, Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah, Representative of Queen Elizabeth II and Head of State of the Cook Islands Frederick Goodwin, Head of State of Luxembourg Le Grand-Duc Henri, Supreme Head of State of Malaysia Mizan Zainal Abidin, President of Micronesia Emanuel Mori, Head of State of Monaco Prince Albert II, Governor-General of New Zealand Anand Satyanand, King of Norway Harald V, Head of State of Samoa Tuiatua Tupua Tamasese Efi, San Marino's Captains regents Rosa Zafferani and Federico Pedini Amati, President of the Confederation of Switzerland Pascal Couchepin, and President of Vanuatu Kalkot Mataskelekele.

Senior Communist Party of China officials Li Changchun, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang were present at the breakfast meeting.
